MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — West Memphis Police are looking for four men responsible for a burglary at the One Stop Pawn Shop on Kroger Road in West Memphis.
Police say $90,000 worth of jewelry and 11 guns were taken from the store in a smash-and-grab type burglary.
Andrew Griffin, the manager at the One Stop Pawn Shop, said the thieves broke through a window to get inside the One Stop Pawn Shop early Thursday morning.
Surveillance video showed the moment the four men smashed the window with a crowbar and sledgehammer before climbing through and stripping the store nearly bare.
"First pulled two ARs off the wall, started breaking cases. Got all the jewelry, a few handguns and an AR and they were out," said Griffin.
Officials say the suspects drove off in a dark colored 4-door sedan.
Griffin said the pawn shop industry can be tough, especially when it comes to building up a solid inventory, which is why he thinks they may have been targeted three times in the last three years.
"Everybody knows we try to do our best to keep good stuff in stock. So that's why they come for us and now anybody else," he said.
He said the first theft was a similar smash-and-grab style burglary that cleaned out the cases. The second theft was just a few months later but less inventory was stolen.
"The very first one was the beginning of covid 2020, January 1 actually. That was just like this, a cleanout. And the second time the dude ran a truck through the door in just of that year and only got one thing and left," said Griffin.
When they came to see the damage, Griffin said it was devastating. He said it will take months, if not longer, to build back what was stolen.
"We just started cleaning. Just didn't even think about it, didn't even want to think about it. Just stared grabbing glass and try to get going next," said Griffin.
As police work with federal agents to find the men, Griffin and the team at 1 Stop Pawn Shop will work to rebuild.
"Get stuff in, start putting out the message. If you got any gold or jewelry laying around, any guns you don't use anymore, bring em down. We will pay top dollar," he said.
